week 12

Ophelia is a young women, who had a mind of a teenager. Oh no my boyfriend has broking up with me!!:( I shall now go and drown myself.  Her world was pleasing hamlet in her life, but when the prince shows his true feelings, towards her she starts to loose it. I think if her brother was to be there, he could have kept her from going mad, especially when her dad died that was the last straw in her. From there and on she was lost like a sheep without its shepherd. She wanted her old life where nothing went bad, and everyone was happy.

week 11

`Hamlet was giving one small task and that was to kill his uncle but did he? NO! instead of doing that he went to his mothers chambers to stab his mothers heart not with knifes but cruel harsh words to open her mind of what she's done and doing. i think the reason why Hamlet's father appeared was for one reason and that reason was to remind Hamlet of what he had tolled him to do.

week 10

Branagh VS Gibson easy peasy I am with Branagh why? Because he was more true the book in my opinion he was more what Shakespeare would have liked to seen. Branagh had everything he fallowed the script line very well in his movie. Gibson however did not his lines were very short and to me if you want to get a really true feeling of Hamlet you shouldn't cut his lines away because that weakens his character.  Branagh's acting of Hamlet is more dramatic and accurate he shows more of madness and drama on Hamlet's side the speeches were said in a stronger way it made more existing. Now the Gibson version was not dramatic at all it only focuses on Hamlet talking to himself. There was hardly any action and very little drama.  This tolled me that the Gibson version was just plain boring.  

week 9

Denmark was once a peaceful land, but no more sense the death of Hamlet's father.  It has falling into darkness, and the only person that is still mourning is Hamlet he is still sad and depressed over his fathers death. His feelings towards the world as he described were that it is ''weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable'' 1 Corinthians 7:9  talks about self-control both Gertrude and Claudius sinned and were together before they were married.  The church in those days did not look kindly on marriages like this one.  It is not lawful to marry your brothers wife. Yes! I'm coming from the bible again.  Hamlet did not like how his mother got married so fast I mean two months! had past and she's in love already. Hamlet feels like his part of her sin because she's his mother.

Week 7

The reason why he didn't read it is probably because that's not how they run things over there. Cassius asked Artemidorus what are you doing out here in the streets? go to the capital. Caesar refused to read it probably because he thought himself to great to be reading such child things.

Week 7
 When you plot to kill someone it always seems like you have it all planned out.  Sadly Brutus and Cassius plan went through both thought that they did Caesar a favor by killing him because now Rome will be better and more powerful and on the bright side Caesar doesn't have to fear death anymore. Caesar said that cowards die many times but a real brave solider dies only once.

week 6

Both wife's are worried for their husbands. Portia is not happy with Brutus. His not being honest with her and is keeping his distance away from her. Calpurnia is freaking out because she had a nightmare how her husband was killed. She ''saw my statue, Which like a fountain with an hundred spouts did run pure blood, and many lusty Romans came smiling and did bathe their hands in it''.  And she sense something is going to happen to Caesar. I think scenes 1-2 are showing some resemblance between the two women's.

week 6

When your married to your husband you get to know him very well. So when Brutus says "I am not well in health, that is all" I find it kinda funny i mean come on this is your wife Brutus. She knows him well enough to see that his not telling her everything. She tells him that he is wise and that if he was sick he would grab it to overcome the sickness. ''Brutus is wise, and, were he not in health, He would embrace the means to come by it''.
 I think Portia is feeling left out of her husband personal life. She lives in his dwelling place to bring him happiness. ''Dwell I but in the suburbs Of your good pleasure''.

Week 5

When Cassius heard  that Caesar fainted at the crowning he was more displeased with the king. It shows that he is not fit to be God and the ruler of this great country. Rome has turned into a mad world there was no longer any structure. Its gone out of hand people didn't dress the proper way. A working man did not have his tools or his working garments. In Rome the clothes you wear are what people look at and defined who you are what you do and where you stand in society. Cassius saw what was happening he was sick and displeased that the Rome he ones knew was no longer there.

Father and son relationship.  Caesar has an eye for Antony's he trusts him and wants to hear his opinions and his advices too. Caesar has a big heart towards Antony.  That's one key why I think Antony likes the king. He is looked up to not as common man but a high powerful man and also as a son in Caesar's eye he puts his arm around him well walking like a father would with his son.

Tv shows and movies does weaken are imagination because all we have to do sit and keep are eyes open and ears to hear.  I think shakespeare would have liked movies and tv shows in his point of view it would be like a play because most people back then could not read at all. By watching the plays was a way for them to enjoy without having to read books. He brought the story's to them words they could understand, but I'm not saying don't read or learn how to read. I think in those days it was common that most people could not read so shakespeare took pity on them and saw a way to help them out.
